Windows Vista Tip - Changing the Logon screen background in Vista: Would you like to be able to customize the background image used on the
Logon screen just as easily as you change the background image on your desktop?
With Stardock free program this is now possible.
The Windows Vista logon is better looking then the older Windows XP logon. But, like me, you want to customize the logon background. This page will show you exactly how to customize the Vista logon background using Stardock LogonStudio for Windows Vista.

Tip: There is two versions of Stardock LogonStudio, one for Windows Vista and one for Windows XP. So this how to will also work with Windows XP.
First, go to my LogonStudio download page here at WebTechGeek.com and download a copy of LogonStudio for Windows and install it on your Windows computer.

Click the Start button, type LogonStudio, and press Enter.

When you install LogonStudio, a few logon backgrounds will come pre-installed. Just click a background and click Apply to change the logon background.

To use your own image, click Create a new Logon screen from the side menu. Note: do not name it WebTechGeek.com as on the Figure 1. picture.

Type in a name and then click the Browse button to locate your image, as shown in Figure 1.

After you have selected your image, click Save.

Select your new logon image and click Apply to see it in action.
