Using a premium news server with a proven privacy policy is not a bad idea. These premium news servers will protect your ID and allow you to download and post very sensitive files (xxx) and MP3s too! You will find games, mp3s, pictures, programs and more free to download. Many of these newsgroups are censored by your ISP and you will not see them. I've tested several premium news servers. First, you need a news reader. If you use Netscape already, then you can stay with it. Any other news reader that allows you to configure the news server will work as well. New TeraNews FREE Not a bad deal here, one time setup fee $3.95. An NNTP server, with a very large selection of newsgroups including sensitive topic groups and NO identifying information in the headers. retention time could be a little better but considering the price, its hard to complain. there is a one line plug (mini advertisement) within the header.
