Logitech Mx700
Cordless Optical Mouse!
Geek Toys

Logitech MX700 Cordless Optical Mouse: If you use up mice like I do you'll love the new Logitech MX700 cordless optical mouse. Why pay more for a cordless optical mouse? Because you can toss out that old mouse pad (optional) and just use your desktop.

Why do I prefer a cordless mouse? For one thing I hate it when the mouse cord gets caught on something on the desktop or behind the desk, or just the drag of the mouse cord is very annoying. I've started using cordless mice when they first came out for sale years ago. And now I just can't go back to a mouse with a cord, I guess I'm spoiled now. It's like driving a new automobile, you go for comfort and eases of use.

The curvy MX700 is a little taller and heavier (about 6.2 ounces) than most corded mice, as well as a little big for small hands and too right-handed for lefties. But it does moves smoothly enough so you can adjust to its weight fairly easily.

Logitech MX700 cordless optical mouse is rechargeable and comes with two AA rechargeable NiMH cells, so you don't have to replace your batteries when they run out of power. You just put the mouse in base station at night or when your not using it to recharge the batteries. I'm a heave mouse user and in my opinion their is nothing more annoying then when my mouse dies when in use.

logitech Mx700 mouse has replaceable rechargeable batteries so you don't have to replace the mouse if and when the batteries stop holding a charge, you just replace the batteries. The LED on the mouse's back blinks to warn you when power's low. You need to park the MX700 properly overnight and remembering to leave it in its stand instead of merely on your desk or mouse pad.

The MX700 using 27MHz, not the consumer-product-crowded 900MHz frequency. 125 times per second, just as fast as the USB 1.1 port the receiver plugs into would speak to a corded mouse. The maximum mouse-to-receiver range is six feet; an adapter plug is provided if you want to connect the receiver to an older, slower PS/2 port. My Mx700 mouse is plug in to my computers PS/2 port and it work just find, that is it don't fill slower.

The Logitech MX700 instantly responds to even your fastest movements. The rechargeable Fast RF cordless technology gives the responsiveness of a corded connection, but without the cord. Two Cruise Control buttons provide continuous scrolling through long documents or websites. And the rapid charge base station acts as a receiver and a charger in one.

Update 5/24/04 After about one year I stop using the MX700 It was too big and heavy. I prefer a light and smaller mouse but, it's still working to this day.
