Copy all your files to a new hard drive: If your upgrading or adding a new hard drive to you computer, you will need to copy all your files to your new drive. Replacing your hard drive is as simple as taking the old one out and plugging the new one into the same spot. The challenge in replacing your hard drive is how to copy or transfer all of your existing files and program from the old hard drive to your new hard drive.
One approach for you is to back up all your data and programs from your old hard drive, and then restore them to your new hard drive once it's been installed. This approach hard, but it works.
A easier approach for you to install your new hard drive in your computer as the master drive (set jumpers), and keep your old hard drive installed and change it to your slave or second drive. This way you can copy all of your files and data from your old hard drive to your new hard drive. Plus, you get to keep your old hard drive for more hard drive storage. Believe me, you'll will need all the hard drive storage you can get! WebTechGeek.com
